Adirondack Chairs, City of Dublin

Colleen Gianatiempo was commissioned to create an Adirondack chair for the City of Dublin as a part of the New American Backyard project. The chairs were auctioned off and placed throughout the city of Dublin as public art. The chairs were on display from March through mid-September and then put into the courtyard at Dublin Civic Center during the final weeks of the online auction.

My work expresses my love of nature and my observations of flowers and fauna. I use the abstract language of bold color, varying textures, shapes, and pattern to interpret the geometric and organic forms. I take a tiny sliver of an element that inspires me and magnify it to highlight, and show off its complexities, intricate layers, patterns and design.
