My work expresses my love of nature and my observations of flowers and fauna. I use the abstract language of bold color, varying textures, shapes, and pattern to interpret the geometric and organic forms. I take a tiny sliver of an element that inspires me and magnify it to highlight, and show off its complexities, intricate layers, patterns and design.
Embracing spontaneity, I coat on, layer over, sand off, erase, paint on top of, excavate, collage, spray away, remove and repeat. Each piece transforms through equal parts order and chaos. This process is just as relevant to me as the end result. In Aqueous, Fibonacci spirals peek through layers of paint and pastel, revealing the organic perfection of nature.
What may be minuscule or simply overlooked, is what I find most beautiful, poignant, and impactful in the world around me.
