Printmaking is about discovering new approaches to transferring a mark onto a surface and building colorful layers using nontraditional methods.  Mono-printing is a form of printmaking that allows you to create unique, free-form printed images every time. You will learn the following techniques: Additive, Reductive, Masking, Stamping, Overlay & Collage. Primarily we will use a gelatin plate (Gelli), plexiglass, Grafix plates and foam plates. We will also dabble in other printmaking techniques such as linocut, rubber stamping and more.  This class is the ultimate in expressive mark making.  You will quickly develop your own style!

My work expresses my love of nature and my observations of flowers and fauna. I use the abstract language of bold color, varying textures, shapes, and pattern to interpret the geometric and organic forms. I take a tiny sliver of an element that inspires me and magnify it to highlight, and show off its complexities, intricate layers, patterns and design.
